2017 has been an amazing year and without a doubt we want to recognize some Women in PR in Ghana who have served as an inspiration to many young ones both students and professionals.
We appreciate the efforts they continue to put not just in their personal image which inspires many other people within the PR and Communications discipline but equally extending that to develop others.

Esther Cobbah, (CEO, Stratcomm Africa)
Esther Cobbah is the lead Communication Strategist at Stratcomm Africa. She has worked as a communication specialist for a number of campaigns and organizations.
This year, she led her firm to win several awards including the PR News Platinum PR and Agency Elite Awards in New York for the Garden and Flower Show, CSR CEO of the Year at the Ghana CSR Excellence Awards and Female Business Leadership Awards at the International Summit of African Leadership amongst other successful campaigns embarked on.
Gifty Bingley (Head of Corporate Affairs, Tigo Ghana now AirtelTigo)
Gifty Bingley is an award-winning communications and public relations leader with 15+ years of experience in telecommunications, government, and broadcast media organizations. Known for her ability to inject intensity, passion, and energy into every project, Gifty has a broad range of leadership proficiencies and is energized by the ever-evolving communications landscape.
She has led successful campaigns and continues to serve as a role model to many young communications professionals.
Her team won the Best Team at the 2016 National Public Relations and Communications Excellence Awards.
Elaine Sam, APR (President, IPR Ghana)
Madam Elaine Sam is a private management consultant and a multi-skilled professional with rich experience in the areas of journalism, public and community relations and human resource practice, spanning over 30 years
She is the current President of the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana and very passionate about the practice of Public Relations in Ghana, as she continues to lead the Institute to provide a professional structure for members.
Dr. Joyce Aryee (Founder and Executive Director of Salt & Light Ministries)
Dr. Joyce Rosalind Aryee is the Founder of Salt & Light Ministries and an accomplished management and Communication Consultant.
Dr. Joyce Aryee was recognized as the IPR Ghana PR Personality of the Year 2014 and very passionate about the practice of Public Relations in Ghana. She continues to be a strong model for many young women in PR.
Shirley Tony Kum (Corporate Communications Manager, Vivo Energy)
With over 10 years of innovation and outstanding contributions to the Public Relations and Communications space within the mining and petroleum sectors, Shirley essentially built the Ghanaian leg of the Communications function, putting the basics of a solid communications plan in place to position the company and its brand as one of the leaders in the Oil Marketing Industry.
Prior to her current role at Vivo Energy Ghana, Shirley was part of a team that pioneered the establishment of the corporate communications function of Newmont Golden Ridge Limited and later rose through the ranks to a higher position within the Communication department where she received numerous awards including the spot employee recognition award from the President of Newmont Mining Corporation in Denver.
She was recently adjudged the PR Discovery of the Year 2016 at the National Public Relations and Communications Excellence Awards by the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana, in Accra.
Paulina Kuranchie (Lecturer, Ghana Institute of Journalism)
She has consulted for various organizations including the United Nations Information Centre in Accra, The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI).
Paulina is currently the Graduate Programmes Coordinator at Ghana’s premier communications University, Ghana Institute of Journalism.
She is the lead consultant at ePR, a Public Relations Agency specialising in Tech start-ups which she started in 2017. Paulina believes that, the future of businesses lie in the use of Tech and Digital Tools to market brands and build relationships.
She is also passionate about training the next generation of practitioners.
