Cynthia Ofori-Dwumfuo is a strategic communications professional who has worked across a broad range of communications functions in Ghana, USA & UK.

The Power of Storytelling in Shaping Public Perception

Working in PR, strategic & corporate communications, media & government relations, public affairs, CSR, marketing & brand development, events, advocacy, and digital; Cynthia’s had an exciting decade of developing, executing and running impactful projects and campaigns. She is currently the PR business leader for Ogilvy & Mather Ghana, an integrated communications agency.

Having managed communications teams and varied portfolios of high-profile clients across sectors including: telecoms, finance, manufacturing, technology, tourism, food and beverages, FMCG, aviation, government, etc.; Cynthia turned millions in yearly revenues. Her clients included, Vodafone, Tigo, Samsung, Huawei, MAZDA, Nestle CWAR (NIDO, Nescafe), Kasapreko, PZ Cussons West and Central Africa, Vaseline Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire,

Delta Airlines, Diamond Cement, South African Tourism, South African Airways, Fidelity Bank, Guinness Ghana, Ericsson, Rockefeller Foundation, and more. In the US she worked for corporates and non-profit clients, notably AT&T and Nissan, both Fortune 500 companies, as well as Saving Promise Advocacy and American University Washington College of Law.

In the UK, her work involved pharmaceutical liaising and communications. Cynthia began her career with national service at the Ministry of Communications moving on to become a junior consultant at a Ghanaian management consulting firm.

Cynthia holds a Bachelors in Economics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, and a Masters in Professional Communications from Clemson University, USA.

Cynthia believes that perception really is everything and she loves helping clients make positive impressions on their audiences. She believes great communicators are those who think broadly, adapt easily, interpret “glocally”, know what’s current, and can tell a good story. Ultimately, a life worth living is one full of life!

In her spare time, Cynthia leads communications for TEDxAccra, the local chapter of TED Global, and organisers of thought-leadership events, TEDxAccra, TEDxAccraWomen and Africa Dialogues. She is also the co-Founder of Ghana’s first full-scale basketball tournament, Rush Community

Basketball Tournament. She is also an avid traveler and fan of all things travel. Her best moments are those spent Skyping with her two nephews.

Women in PR Ghana Seminar event is organized by E’April Public Relations in partnership with the Institute of Public Relations Ghana and sponsored by Voltic Ghana, L’Oréal Ghana and partnered by African University College of Communications (AUCC), Webster University Ghana Campus, Business and Financial Times, Daily PR Africa, Shotbyese and George Britton.
